Windows into a New World

It was late afternoon and I had been calling vendors all day. I was reluctant to make anymore calls because I knew mobs of Tricker-Treaters would soon be ringing my doorbell. We needed windows for our Owen Street Project. I started my search in the now habitual pattern googling "windows"; Renewal by Anderson came up first on the list. Their home office is located in Greensboro but I figured I'd give it shot anyway.

The sweetest receptionist answered the phone. I told her my reason for calling and she immediately transferred me to Jodi, the Director of Marketing. She thought the project was wonderful and promised to get back to me with additional questions regarding the number of windows needed, approximate size, etc. Before Halloween evening was over, I had heard from Jodie saying they would love to be part of the project and thanked me for including them. They were thanking me!?!?

They started by assigning us to Faith, a customer care specialist. Then I heard from Renewal by Anderson to let me know the president of the company, Monty Fuller and the Raleigh Showroom and Warehouse manager, Eric Curtis wanted to meet with me and Dan Sargent from Rebuilding Together of the Triangle first thing Monday morning. Whoa, these folks were fast!

Monty and Eric met us around 10am Monday morning, measured all the windows inside and out, thanking us again for allowing them to be part of our project. Really? What I soon discovered was that the month of November is their company giving month. Renewal by Anderson has a history of working with numerous charities in the Triad and the Triangle, so they are experts in the wonderful art of giving back. We lucked out by calling at just the right time! Jessica and her children will have custom-made, energy efficient windows throughout their home. They will be kept warm for a very long time.

As if this wasn’t enough, Jodie sent me an email asking if our project could be highlighted in a full-page ad they had planned to run in the Raleigh News and Observer the week of Thanksgiving. Added exposure is always welcome! Thank you to Renewal by Anderson by making warm window dreams come true.
